Directions for Use

Surface Preparation

The substrate must be strong and stable. Remove all loose or unsound concrete. Make sure the surface is free from oil, grease, paint, dust, laitance, or other deposits. Prepare the surface by captive blasting to achieve an exposed aggregate finish (ICRI CSP 4 or 5 profile). Fill bug holes with suitable material (consult IZOZENĀ® technical team).

Moisture Testing

Check the concrete slab for moisture using the Rapid RH system (ASTM F2170).

  • If humidity is above 80%, perform MVER testing (ASTM F1869).

  • If MVER is less than 3 lbs/1000ft²/24h, use the standard primer.

  • If MVER is between 3–5 lbs/1000ft²/24h, apply primer at 165 microns WFT.

  • If MVER is between 5–12 lbs/1000ft²/24h, apply two coats at 200 microns WFT each.

Mixing

Pour Part B (hardener) into Part A (base) and mix with a slow-speed drill (max 500 rpm) and a coating mixer paddle. Mix for at least 3 minutes until uniform in color. Always rotate the mixer inside the drum. Mix only full packs.

Application

Apply one coat of 100 microns (4 mils) wet film thickness using a brush, roller, or airless spray. For airless spray, use a 0.015ā€ā€“0.018ā€ tip at 2200 psi. Allow the primer to dry 6–24 hours at 30°C (86°F) before recoating. If more than 24 hours pass, re-prime the surface. Ensure even coverage with no ponding. For porous substrates, apply two coats.
