IZOZENĀ® FLEXPRO PU 500

IZOZENĀ® FLEXPRO PU 500 is a one-component polyurethane waterproofing liquid membrane designed for terraces and other surfaces.

Properties

  • Excellent resistance to mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV, and weather conditions.

  • Based on pure, elastomeric, hydrophobic polyurethane resins.

  • Creates a uniform, elastic, vapor-permeable sealing layer without seams or joints.

  • Strong adhesion to concrete, cement mortars, wood, and most waterproofing layers.

  • Suitable for irregular substrates.

  • Can be applied on green roofs, flower beds, and more.

  • Provides toxicity and fungi resistance.

  • Available in white and other colors.

Directions for Use

Substrate Preparation
  1. General Requirements:

    • Surface must be dry (moisture < 4%), clean, free of oil, grease, dust, or loose material.

  2. Concrete Substrates:

    • Fill cavities with appropriate repair materials beforehand.

  3. Smooth/Non-Absorptive Substrates (e.g., bituminous membranes):

    • Prime with a water-based epoxy primer. (Consult IZOZENĀ® technical advisor.)

  4. Metal Surfaces:

    • Dry, clean, free of rust, grease, or dust.

    • Prepare by brushing, rubbing, or sandblasting.

    • Can be applied without priming.

Application & Consumption
  • Stir slightly before use (avoid extensive mixing to prevent air entrapment).

a) Surface Sealing
  • Apply in 2 layers with brush/roller.

  • First layer: 2–3 hours after priming (while primer is tacky).

  • Second layer: crosswise, after 8–24 hours (weather dependent).

  • Consumption: 1.0–1.5 kg/m².

  • For dense cracks: reinforce with 100 cm wide polypropylene fiber tape (40 g/m²), overlapping by 5–10 cm.

b) Waterproofing Under Tiles
  • Apply in 2 layers with brush/roller.

  • Reinforce joints and wall-floor junctions with 10 cm polypropylene fiber tape.

  • Apply 2 extra layers over cracks.

  • While fresh, broadcast dry quartz sand (Ƙ 0.3–0.8 mm, ~3 kg/m²).

  • After hardening, remove loose sand and fix tiles using polymer-modified adhesive (e.g., IZOZEN FLEXPRO AK series).

Fields of Application

IZOZENĀ® FLEXPRO PU 500 is ideal for waterproofing:

  • Terraces and balconies (exposed membrane).

  • Under tile layers in kitchens, bathrooms, balconies, and terraces (with quartz sand broadcast).

  • Under thermal insulation boards on terraces.

  • Highways, bridge decks, tunnels, and construction works.

  • Foundations.

  • Gypsum and cement boards.

  • Old layers of bituminous or EPDM membranes.

  • Polyurethane foam.

  • Metal and concrete surfaces.
